ALIF Foundation is a non-profit organisation established on the 22nd of February 2001 and formally registered in the civil court in Bandung, Indonesia on 13 March 2001.

ALIF's vision is to uphold and to fulfil the Islamic teaching as has been taught by Prophet Muhammad SAW. As such, ALIF's mision is to carry out Islamic da'wa, especially through out various educational activities for children starting from age 3-16 years old.

The foundation was originated as an activity carried out by a group of Indonesian Muslim students in the United Kingdom, KIBAR (Keluarga Islam di Britania Raya dan Sekitarnya). Having a deep concern about the crisis that has been happening in Indonesia since 1998, the group came to a conclusion that one of the main causes of the crisis is a lack of good morality in Indonesian society.

ALIF believed that one important long term solution to the problem faced by Indonesia, a country with the biggest Muslim population in the world, is to promote all aspects of Islamic education for young generations, so the society can live based on Islamic values, in the light of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
